Our colleague Andrej Pastorek, M.Sc., gave a presentation at the conference “Risks of Tampering and Control Failures in Industry,” organized by ELA Blockchain Services a.s. and the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic.
In his presentation, “Firmware – From Flexibility to Systemic Risk,” he addressed current security challenges associated with firmware. Among other things, he pointed out that firmware today often consists of dozens of separate layers within a single device.
While the development of online and OTA updates has increased flexibility and device management capabilities, it has also heightened the risk of misuse and the impact of potential failures in a connected IoT environment.
